This Website Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you visit our website, how that information may be used, and the choices available to you. Our public website is primarily informational and is separate from our clinical electronic health record system.

1. Information We Collect

Our website is hosted by Wix and provides information about our clinic, healthcare services, and patient resources.  We do not currently provide public website forms for collecting medical histories, confidential clinical questions, or patient intake information. When you visit our website, Wix and supporting technologies may automatically collect or process information such as:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address.

  • Browser type and operating system.

  • Device information.

  • Website session identifiers.

  • Pages visited and approximate visitor location.

  • Website performance and security information.

  • General website usage statistics.

Certain technical information, including IP addresses and unique online identifiers, may qualify as personal information under California privacy laws. If you contact our Clinic by email, we may receive your email address, name, and any information you choose to provide.

2. Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website uses Wix hosting and associated technologies, including cookies that support website operation, security, session management, and analytics. Cookies are small data files that websites may store in a visitor's browser.  We use Wix Analytics to understand general website traffic, including the number of visitors, approximate geographic locations, and website performance.  Wix Analytics may use cookies and other technologies to generate these reports. Our Google Analytics/Google Tag integration is currently disabled, and our website review did not identify any advertising or other analytics tracking requests.

We do not intentionally use public website cookies to collect patient medical histories or confidential clinical information. Visitors can manage, block, or delete cookies through their browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality or the accuracy of analytics reports.
We periodically review the technologies used on our website and update this policy when appropriate.

3. How We Use Website Information

Website-related information may be used to:

  • Operate and maintain our website.

  • Support website security and functionality.

  • Understand general visitor traffic and approximate geographic distribution.

  • Identify technical problems and improve website performance.

  • Respond to general inquiries.

  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

Website analytics are used to evaluate general website performance and are not intended to make medical diagnoses or clinical decisions about individual visitors.

4. Website Hosting and Third-Party Services

Our website is hosted by Wix, which may process website-related technical information in connection with hosting, security, analytics, and other website functions. Our website may contain links to independent third-party services, including Fullscript and Jane App.

When you follow an external link, you may be directed to a separate website governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms.  Some third-party services or embedded components may also process technical information when their content is loaded on our website. We encourage visitors to review the privacy practices of external services before providing personal information.

We do not intentionally use our public website for third-party advertising retargeting or the sale of visitor information. We periodically review our website integrations to verify that they remain consistent with these practices.

5. Patient Health Information

Our public website is not intended to serve as a medical records system or a method for submitting confidential clinical information. Synergy Natural Medicine Clinic is transitioning to Jane App as its primary electronic health record and practice management system.  Jane App will be used for authorized clinical functions, including medical records, patient intake forms, medical histories, scheduling, and other practice management activities. Patient health information collected or maintained through approved clinical systems is handled according to applicable federal and California confidentiality requirements. Our separate Notice of Privacy Practices explains how patient medical information may be used, disclosed, and protected. The Notice is available HERE.

6. Email and Patient Communications
Our website provides telephone numbers and email addresses for general administrative inquiries.
When you send us an email, we may use the information provided to respond to your request and manage related communications.

Please do not send medical histories, diagnoses, laboratory results, treatment information, or other confidential health information through ordinary email.  For confidential medical communications, please telephone our office or use a Clinic-approved secure communication method.

If confidential information is received through email, we will handle it in accordance with applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements.

7. Information Sharing and Security

Website-related information may be processed by Wix and service providers assisting with hosting, website functionality, security, analytics, and related operations. Information may also be disclosed when required or permitted by applicable law. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information handled through our website. No website or electronic communication system can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Information Retention

Website-related information may be retained as reasonably necessary for website operation, security, analytics, responding to inquiries, and compliance with applicable legal requirements.  Retention periods depend on the nature of the information, the services involved, applicable provider settings, and legal obligations. Medical record retention is addressed separately under our clinical policies and applicable healthcare confidentiality laws.

9. Visitor Privacy Choices and Online Tracking

Visitors may control or delete browser cookies through their browser settings.

Our website currently uses Wix Analytics for website traffic reporting. Our separate Google Analytics integration is disabled. Our website review concluded that the website does not engage in cross-site advertising tracking. However, website service providers may process technical information according to their own service configurations. We have not independently verified how every Wix component responds to browser Do Not Track signals or other browser-level tracking preferences.

We will update this disclosure as needed when the relevant technical behavior has been confirmed.

Visitors may contact our Clinic with questions concerning information provided through website communications or to exercise applicable privacy rights. Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, individuals may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of certain personal information, subject to legal exceptions and retention requirements.

10. Children's Privacy

Our public website provides general healthcare information and is not specifically directed toward children under age 13.  We do not intentionally solicit personal information from children through general public website forms.  Medical information relating to minors is handled in accordance with applicable federal and California confidentiality requirements.
