Notice on Prior Authorizations & IV Ports
Prior Authorizations: $35-$50

We understand that navigating the healthcare system can sometimes be complex, and we deeply value the trust you place in us to manage your care effectively. One aspect of this process is obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies. These authorizations are required by many insurers to approve certain medications or treatments before they are covered.
Unfortunately, this process has become increasingly time-consuming and administratively challenging, often requiring extensive coordination and up to an hour or more of our staff’s time to secure approval for a single prescription.

To continue providing the high level of care and service you expect, we must implement a modest administrative fee for prior authorization requests. Beginning January 1st, 2025, there will be a charge of $35 for one prior authorization and $50 for two or more prior authorizations requested at the same time. This fee helps offset the significant time and resources required to complete these detailed submissions on your behalf.

We truly regret any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we’ve made this decision with careful consideration. Our team remains committed to supporting you and working diligently to ensure you receive the treatments you need as quickly and seamlessly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we adapt to these changes in the healthcare landscape. If you have any questions or concerns about this new policy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office. We are here to help in any way we can.

IV Port Access Fee: $25

A port is a small medical device implanted under the skin, often in the chest, to make it easier to deliver medications, fluids, or perform blood draws.
Accessing your port requires specialized skills, extra time, and specific sterile supplies to ensure your safety. Unlike a standard IV, ports need a special type of needle, precise technique, and additional steps to prevent infections and keep the port functioning properly.

This fee helps cover the cost of the supplies, the extra time we take to ensure everything is done safely, and the specialized training required for our team to access your port correctly. It’s a common charge in clinics and hospitals for this type of procedure, and it ensures we can continue to provide the highest quality care for you.
