Vitamin B12 shots

Vitamin B12 shots are the new way to stay healthy, active and prevent a wide variety of health problems.  B Vitamins play a vital role in your body's ability to metabolize protein, fats and carbohydrates for energy.  B12 supports  the body's production of red blood cells and the protective coating surrounding our nerves and inadequate B12 levels can result in nerve damage over time.  B12 shots are for people who want to be more active and are becoming more popular for patients who are looking to lose weight.

Vitamin B12 deficiency is common and many doctors are now recommending that patients get B12 shots.  It's estimated that almost 40% of the US population is B12 deficient, ranging from mild deficiencies that can cause weakness, tiredness, mood changes and neurological problems, to significant deficiencies that are associated with anemia, easy bruising, numbness in the fingers and toes, difficult walking, depression, memory loss and dementia.

B12 deficiency is far more common in older Americans.  As we get older, our ability to digest and absorb vitamin B12 from our food diminishes, especially for patients who take acid-reducing drugs. Excessive alcohol consumption and other health problems can also result in B12 deficiencies.

B12 shots are available at our Clinic on a walk-in basis during our Happy Hour events or during your appointment. If you SCHEDULE ONLINE, you don't need to be a current patient and can schedule as soon as the same day.

Simple B12 shots are available for as little as $25.  We also have a list of specialty formulas that are recommended by Dr. Wicher, and are very popular with our patients. If you would like your own recommendation on what B12 shot combination is best for you, just ask Dr. Wicher what she recommends when you come in for your B-12 shot.
